Not only is Neymar the best player on Brazil, he was the heart and soul of the World Cup. Considering that it was in Brazil, he had the whole nation on his back while going through the group stages and progressing throughout the tournament. When Brazil advanced to the semifinals against Germany, I don't think Brazil was mentally prepared to play without Neymar.
Germany had one of the best first halves of all time against Brazil. Dropping 5 goals within the first 30 minutes in the first half and racking up 4 goals in a 10 minutes span. Germany just ripped out the hearts of the Brazilians squad and then rubbed it in their face. It was an impeccable performance by the Germans as they kept pressuring the ball and counter attacked any time they had the chance. Not only that, their execution was superb. Drilling shots from everywhere inside the box. Germany just seemed to be in the right place at the right time and Brazil looked like they were just chasing the ball. Brazil just wasn't ready for Germany's overall size and speed that they possess.
Argentina squeaked by the Netherlands in a shootout. Both teams stood on their heads and both goal keepers were flawless but Argentina moved passed the Dutch in a very competitive semi final matchup.
Now on to the Finals.
Germany vs Argentina is going to be an epic battle. After seeing Germany absolutely dismantle Brazil. Its hard to go against them. When the spotlight is on you, star players usually come to the front of the stage and take a bow. Look for Mueller and Messi to perform very well for Germany and Argentina respectively. The X-Factor here is Argentina's GK Romero. He has to be able to contain Germany's shots on goal. Germany is always in prime position when they put their shots on net. Like I have said all along, I have to go with Superstars in tournaments like this, thats why I give the edge to Messi and Argentina
Winner: Argentina will shock Germany and take the title. Argentina wins 3-2 with Messi scoring GW Goal.
Lets go Messi!!
