To take in the game last night I decided to head out to a sports bar, talk up the game and if I could mention our website. So off I was to Capri Pizzeria in Hudson, NH to watch the Bruins, have a few drinks and a bite to eat. When I arrived the pre-game show was already on and so was the world series pre-game. It so happened that it was a bit of a slow night but all the patrons were only interested in the Bruins. Alyce, was our bartender and a knowledgable Bruins fan. The buzz in the bar was how the Bruins would bear up with Zdeno Chara. One patron had already read my pre-game story and thought it was interesting that I thought Doug Hamilton would have a good game.
Well I ordered a drink, we were all suitably somber during the pre-game tribute and then I ordered a burger and fries. It wasn't long before we had something to cheer about as Carl Soderbergh scored on the power play five minutes into the game. There were only 5 other patrons but a good conversation about the game ensued over the course of the game. There were a lot of pick-ups for food as well and everyone was interested in the Bruins.
Capri recently expanded it's dining area and became a full service bar. The night before had been a Halloween party and every Thursday there is a meal and beer special and game day specials for Bruins and Patriot games. Friday's their busiest night of the week and they have Karaoke. I'll be going back soon to watch another game and be reporting from other sports bars as I engage the local fan and hear what interests them. Thanks to all at Capri's Pizzeria!
Until Next Time!
