There were Bruins Skating at the Rustuccia Arena yesterday! Patrice Bergeron called a Captains Practice and he and Chris Kelly put some early arriving Bruins through their paces as they gear up to the opening of pre-season camp. There were also some guests as well as some local college players and some Bruins Alumni also came out to skate.
Bruins on hand were Kelly, Adam McQuaid, Dennis Seidenberg all returning from injuries and surgeries in the off season. Some Providence Bruins looking to get out early and maybe make the NHL squad were Justin Florek, Zach Trotman, Bobby Robins and David Warsofsky. Warsofsky is considered NHL ready and plays a game in the mold of Torey Krug and might get a look if Krug remains unsigned going through camp and into the new season. Tommy Cross, Brian Ferlin and David Pastrnak were also out there.
Some other notable Bruins were Tuukka Rask, Loui Ericksson and Daniel Paille. Former Bruins Hal Gill and Shawn Thornton were there and Keith Yandle from the Arizona Coyotes. As well as a few assorted local college hockey players. Gill is looking for a try out with a team as he remains a Free Agent and Thornton was there displaying his new Florida Panthers practice uniform.
I thought it was notable that Bruins that were hurt or had off seasons last year were out there showing their seriousness to be ready for camp. To a man, they were all showing their character and determination to get off on the right foot this year. Also you get a quick look at which Bruins prospects want to get as much jump as possible coming into camp.
Until Next Time!
