The Boston Bruins signed Simon Gagne today to a one year, one way contract with a cap hit of $600 thousand.
The 34 year old, left shooting winger has been hanging with the team since the start of truing camp on a Professional Try Out. In light of the recent woes in losing 3 of their first 4 games, a desperate Bruins Management team pulled the trigger and signed the deal. There may be bonus ramifications that may be pushed onto next years salary cap involved as well.
As part of the announcement, the Bruins also announced the demotion to Providence of Bobby Robins and Jordan Caron to make room on the roster for him.
In thirteen seasons, Gagne has scored 288 goals and 309 assists, but due to injuries, took all of last season off to get himself back into shape after three injury scarred seasons.
Until Next Time !
