Today might be the day David Krejci returns to the lineup. The Bruins could desperately use his help. Never knowing what his injury was, who can say if he is indeed ready or rushing back because the Bruins are in such a funk and trouble. If I had to guess, I would say he strained a knee/ankle or hurt his groin because he went six days without skating. I think and hope the Bruins Medical staff would preach some caution. We need a healthy Krejci that can go 100%, not a partial Krejci that will not help out the power play or settle Milan Lucic down.
Krejci and Lucic will be welcoming their former line mate Jerome Iginla to town and I hope the fans give him a good round of applause as he played well for us last year and it wasn't his fault the Bruins couldn't keep him in the lineup.
Seth Griffith was called up from Providence and Craig Cunningham was sent down. I was impressed with Cunningham but I suspect Greg Campbell is close to returning and I think Ryan Spooner is here to stay for a while.
I'm expecting Niklas Svedberg to make his debut this afternoon as Tuukka needs the rest. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jordan Caron or Matt Bartkowski in the lineup also. If Caron does play, expect Matt Fraser to sit, which is unfortunate as I think he should be on the first line with Krejci and Lucic and Caron while he had a good camp, is just more of the same after three seasons in and out of the lineup and failing to cement a spot. I'm not a fan of Caron, he just doesn't have chemistry with anyone in the lineup, his money could be better spent and he recently cleared waivers last week, so other teams aren't especially interested in him either.
This is the Bruins first matinee game of the season on a holiday and I hope lots of younger hockey fans take advantage of the opportunity to go to the game.
Until Next Time!
