It's a great time to be a sports fan right now. With all the Madness of March in the NCAA Tournament, spring training coming to a close and opening day upon us (Red Sox killing it and looking real good) and hockey getting into the thick of it as playoffs get closer...
But if you're a Bruins fan living in New York, like myself, you're dealing with the stress and depression of this five game losing streak and harassment from Islanders and Rangers fans.
NEED I REMIND YOU.. This five game losing streak came directly after a five game winning streak. Talk about throwing us on a roller coaster ride that leaves us wanting to throw up in the end, Boston.
Islanders and Rangers fans obviously have every right to not be stressed out and should be excited because their current record shows good news in the future. But if you could please stop shoving in my face that you think either team will be in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.. THAT'D BE GREAT.
Anyways.. I read an article on NESN today that if the playoffs were to start today my beloved B's wouldn't be in it. The first time since 2007.
*closes laptop and throws it out window*
Just kidding I can't afford to buy another one, but that's what I felt like doing.
Luckily, the playoffs do not start today, but all we can really focus on is playing well, being consistent and getting some W's. No more B.S. Losses to Lightning.
We have nine games left to play and it's obvious we would need to win all of them. Right now that doesn't seem realistic but if we can win the ones that matter then we may still have a chance.
We play a few teams that are also making a run at the playoffs, like the panthers. That would need to be a W, but also playing serious games against higher seeded teams like the Rangers and the Capitals. I don't know, but that makes me nervous.
I don't really know what else to say. Nine games is a lot for a team with a five game losing streak and all are pretty tough competitors and most have beat us in the past.
We are the Boston Bruins though (yes I play for them now) and we've showed great crunch time playing in the past. So come on boys, let's come back with a five game winning streak and turn it into nine and make it to the playoffs.
Let's do it for stressed out fans like me.. And Julien of course.
Send help to Boston.
