Sunday night the Patriots murdered the Indianapolis Colts 42-20. Although it wasn't Tom Brady's best game he had a Running Back (Jonas Gray) and Tight End (Rob Gronkowski) to give the team a win. Jonas Gray is the patriots third string running back and he had a career high of 199 yards last night and a franchise-record four touchdowns to give the Pats their 6th consecutive win. Honestly I didn't really know who Jonas Gray was until after last night, but man can that boy run. 34 carries, 199 yards and 4 touchdowns. If he continues to have games like that patriots will have that extra push they need to make it to the Super Bowl.
Flashback to November 9th when Green Bay absolutely creamed Chicago 55-14 and then on the 16th crushed the Eagles 53-20. These aren't just wins for Green Bay and the Patriots they're "we're going to show you how good of a football team we are, so when we beat you by 30 plus points you can't even be mad walking off the field" wins.
Aaron Rodgers has a total of 2,748 yards and 28 touchdowns and Tom Brady has 2,649 yards with 24 touchdowns. Jordy Nelson has 998 yards and 9 touchdowns and Rob Gronkowski has 734 yards with 9 touchdowns. The point i'm trying to make is these two teams show multiple reasons as to why they could be in the Super Bowl this year and maybe even against each other. Green Bay is 2nd in NFC North with a record of 7-3 and is 5-0 at home. Patriots are 1st in the AFC East with a record of 8-2 and are also 5-0 at home.
The Playoff predictions from NFL.com are 10 out of 11 Eagles for NFC East. 10 out of 11 for Packers in the NFC North. 10 out of 11 for the Saints in NFC South and 10 out of 11 for Seahawks for NFC West. 11 out of 11 for Patriots in AFC East. AFC North is all over the place between the Bengals, Ravens and Steelers. 11-11 for Colts in AFC South and 10 out of 11 for Broncos is AFC West. In my opinion Packers and Patriots sounds like the most riveting, intimidating and intense matchup thus far. I guess we'll see on the 30th how the "prematch" goes. Not so good so far for the Patriots traveling to Green Bays 5-0 home.
Also, I couldn't not post this.. too cute.
