The philosophy this season for the Celtics will ultimately rely on Rajon Rondo's shoulders. This team can be very inconsistent this season because they need to shoot the 3 ball to stay in contention some games. Today will be one of those games.
The Celtics do not have an option for Dwight Howard, plain and simple. You'll be seeing Dwight on the free throw line about 20 times tonight. I will stand by the fact that I said that the Celtics backcourt can match the production of any other backcourt in the league. If I was Brad Stevens, I'm thinking how can I get Howard in foul trouble as quick as possible.
For the Rockets, they added swing man Trevor Ariza and promoted Patrick Beverly to starting PG. They have size, athleticism and can push the ball in transition better than most teams in the NBA.
Player to watch for: James Harden.
He will dictate the pace of the game and whether he can drive the ball against Bradley and Smart will determine how effective Harden will be.
The Texas road trips are typically rough games for Boston. Since this is the beginning of the season, they may not have a lot of pressure on them tonight.
However, talent sometimes out weights scheme and strategy, I expect the Celtics to lose by 12 points, letting it skip away in the 4th quarter. 107 - 95
